Ser Du Månen Daniel

Feature film directed by Anders W Berthelsen and Niels Arden Oplev, produced by Toolbox Film (DK 2019)

Our work on Ser Du Månen Daniel

This film based on the true events of Danish photojournalist Daniel Rye was shot on location in Jordan, Denmark and Sweden and on stage in Sweden.

The director team Anders W Berthelsen and Niels Arden Oplev with DOP Eric Kress and production designer Knirke Madelung wanted to recreate the different stages of the Syrian war zones of the early years of the civil war.

Obviously we couldn't shoot in Syria so we went to Jordan to find similar building style and landscapes. It was then our task in the VFX team to add the destruction to create the atmosphere of a war torn country.

The VFX was supervised by Ivar Rystad and his team at STORM STUDIOS in Oslo and Aksel Studsgarth was our man on set during the long shooting days in Jordan.

Ivars team expertly transformed the location with tons of mattepaints and a couple of CG stealth helicopters.

We also managed to shoot a Belgian prison on a winter cold parking lot in Denmark to save the crew from travelling any more than they already did.
